  Help me understand God's will

  i am tired of being told that gods will is for there to be a paradise earth.

  i have put the following scripture list together to .

  help myself (and maybe others) in discussing what gods will is.. .

  Gods will is that all people should be saved ( have eternal life), yet it's funny how the bible shows the road is narrow that leads to life......so the question arises, " if god wills something, then why doesn't it materialize"? If he's truely god, then he should be able to accomplish his own will.

  I equate that with a parent's will for their children to lead productive and happy lives by making good choices - but as we know, that doesn't always happen. Children, for the most part, are a product of the consequences of their choices, even though the wishes of the parents are quite different. God truly is God in that he doesn't violate one of the fundamental 'laws' of this life - free will (choice). What's the point of learning in this life if we were 'forced' to do God's will?

  a christian wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to the kingdom hall every sunday.

  I've heard of the book, but haven't read it. Of course, I consider writers as any other person with an opinion..... as the saying goes "everyone's got one"

  i'm a devoted west wing fan, and watching the sixth series at the moment.

  i can't understand what is going on when the current democrat vp is running against six other democrat candidates in elections in new hampshire and iowa.

  what are they trying to win?

  I liked the West Wing too. One thing you might want to keep in mind, the show was produced by nearly all Democrats and a lot of the subjects are skewed that way. Either the second or third season, they put a Republican consultant on staff to make the show more 'even-steven'. Good drama though....it gets better each year.

  Months before the Democrats and Republicans pick their final Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates, we have what is called the "primaries". Democratic and Republican hopefuls start campaigning in certain states....I think it starts in the early Spring.... New Hampshire is one of the first states. They only run against those in their party. When Bill Clinton first ran in the New Hampshire primary, there were something like 7 or 8 candidates. No one really knew who Clinton was. But because he worked hard in that small state, after the first few primary elections are over, you know what candidates are 'ringing' with the people. It's a weeding out process. Each State carries so many electorial "points" (depending on populations....large state, more points). As the candidates progress over the next few months, some get strong and some quit. It all leads up to the party Convention (either Democrat or Republican). At those conventions, they can take several votes. The first vote the individual states must vote according to who won the state's primary election.

  Up until about 20 years ago, there use to be several votes at the convention, a lot of back-room dealing. Now it's a 'done' deal usually with the primaries. They usually know, going into the Convention who the party candidate will be.

  that piece of human filth, oj simpson, had the rug pulled out from under him as both his book deal and the interview with him has been cancelled, due to public outrage:.

  Can't pray for disfellowship person

  i just learn from my wife and step-kids that you (jw) can't pray for someone that is disfellowshipped.

  is this true, if so can someone explain and show scriptures as to how they apply it?

  That's not exactly following the scriptures. Christ said to pray for everyone:

  Mat thew 5:43-45 (King James Version)

  43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

  44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

  45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

  Armageddon & end of World religions

  i was just wondering that in the bible it states that at a time that you do not expect is the time that the end will come.

  do you think that for as long as there are end of world religions then there will always be some expecting it at the correct time?

  or maybe the religion or the belief that it is near will peter out due to the constant disapointments?

  Personally, I believe along the lines of tremendous turbulent times, then suddenly the world will be watching CNN as the Second Coming happens and will simultaneously say to themselves "WTF"?????

  A Video Shunning Xperience....

  my g-daughter and i were in the video store this morning.

  [she was out of school with a cough and fever - they won't let her back for 24 hours].. as we prepared to check out in comes sister rita righteous.

  actually i jest here - rita has been df'd three times as a fornicatrix, married out of the 'truth' to a drug dealer, has raised three children who never accepted the religion, and has never, in my 35 years of her acquaintance been 'spiritually minded' or 'active in the service'.. anyway - i am freshly announced as 'no longer one of jehovah's witnesses', and apparently she has heard.
